J.D.M Senior Secondary School was established in the year 2000. The founder of the school is Shri. Devi Dayal Upadhayay and was inaugurated by Uttaranchal Forest Minister Shri. B.D. Bhagat and is administrated by Jamuna Educational and Social Welfare Society. The aim of the school is to give the students irrespective of community. There is no caste and particular religious bindings. There is a very healthy and free atmosphere that helps to develop the personality of the children all round so that they may be able to walk and talk in a mannerful way in the educated society. J.D.M Senior Secondary School aims is to develop the knowledge of the students in every field of life. They are prepared with general, religious, moral and physical creative course of each and every type of development. In short we are trying to prepare good citizens for our country.
In Remembrance of my Mother
Late. Smt. Jamuna Devi Upadhayay D/O Bhawani Dutt Mishra who was born in small village name Haatkalyani P.O. Dewal District Chamoli remote area of Kumoun on dated 13-04-1993. As it was a remote area so she remained illiterate without any primary education. It was not her fault because there was a lack of educational institutions in these remote areas and the poverty was second cause. Her husband Late Mr. Vidhyadhar Upadhayay was a Central worker living away from home. Sometimes he send letters to his family but due to illiteracy Late Jamuna Devi had to go to someone else to read it out the letter. This reduces the privacy of the letter. From that day she kept her son reminding about the importance of education. This incident inspired Mr. Devi Dayal Upadhayay to open a school as a remembrance of his late mother so that the curse of illiteracy could be removed from this society.
